The Myriad Restaurant Group, created by renowned restaurateur Drew Nieporent, is made up of a diverse roster of restaurants. Each of our restaurants is unique and memorable--"so that you can visit one every night of the week and discover something new and engaging each time," says Drew.
The common thread uniting all Myriad restaurants is an emphasis on excellent food, superior service, and genuine value. We've been fortunate to receive acknowledgements and awards from our customers and industry peers. We’re proud to be the only restaurant group honored with three coveted Grand Awards from Wine Spectator (for Montrachet, Rubicon in San Francisco and Tribeca Grill), and four prestigious Ivy Awards from Restaurants & Institutions (for Montrachet, Tribeca Grill, Nobu NY and Rubicon).
Myriad's greatest strength is its people, beginning with Drew's partners, each contributing expertise to different aspects of the business: Tracy Nieporent, Martin Shapiro, and Agnes Chiao. We are fortunate to attract the industry's best and brightest talent, and we give them the training and professional opportunities to succeed. Respect and support of our employees is evident in everything we do; as a result, we enjoy a degree of staff loyalty and tenure that is rare in this high-turnover business.
In addition to running our own restaurants, we offer a full menu of hospitality services on a consulting basis; long-time clients include Marriott International, Interstate Hotels and Resorts, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, SAGE Hospitality and Neiman Marcus. Under our stewardship, these managed restaurants have won countless awards and success, including Johnathan Sundstrom, executive chef of Earth & Ocean (W Seattle), one of Food & Wine's Ten Best New Chefs in 2001; Steelhead Grill (Pittsburgh City Center Marriott), Best New Restaurant in Pittsburgh by Esquire in 1997; chef Jamie Leeds of 15 ria (Washington Terrace Hotel), Rising Star Chef of the Year by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (2004).
We also believe in giving something back to the communities we serve. Our restaurants participate in countless special events and benefits while supporting numerous charity organizations. Myriad generates its own charity events as well. After the World Trade Center tragedy, our former wine director Daniel Johnnes organized a special dinner that raised close to $1,000,000 for the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund. Our International Taste of Tennis gala drew 400 people in 2003, benefiting Citymeals-on-Wheels. Drew 's ongoing involvement includes serving on the boards of Madison Square Garden's Garden of Dreams Foundation, Citymeals-on-Wheels, and DIFFA. Drew has been named Humanitarian of the Year (2000) by both the James Beard Foundation and Distinguished Restaurants of North America.
